Super Fantastic Coffee
Enjoy Jet Fuel for what it is: the quintessential funky/indy coffee house. It comes complete with wood floors, a zinc bar, an excellent sound system and art exhibits. Many of the patrons seem to musicians, filmmakers or actors with plenty of time on their hands in the middle of the day. They dress in black, stay a long time, and have intense conversations. Plenty of them tap away on laptops (novels? screenplays? poetry?)
The home-made muffins and mini-pastries are a steal at just $1.00. An Americano is $2.00 and are always perfectly made. Lattes cost $3.00 but can be a problem -- quality is inconsistent. Sometimes one of the drama queen barista will overdo the existensial angst thing and make some bad drinks.
There is no menu on display and newcomers are not always made to feel welcome. It is not clear how you are supposed to order or when you are supposed to pay. Customers are sometimes ignored as the staff chats away with the regulars.
All that said, the coffee is among the very best in town and the value is outstanding.
This is a unique and quirky place...with its own vibe.
